Students engage in a programme of tutorials and PSHE lessons, plus daily registration sessions with their tutor, delivered as both group and one-to-one meetings.  

Throughout year 12, students are given information about their options and application processes. This includes:  

• Visit to the National Apprenticeship Show 

• Visit to the UCAS Convention  

• Talks on the benefits of university, how to choose a course and institution 

• Visit to a Russell Group university open day (Bristol in 2022, Cardiff in 2023, Birmingham in 2024) 

• Higher Education workshops at the University of Plymouth 

• Guest speakers on various themes, such as financing higher education, apprenticeships, gap years and studying abroad 

• Guidance on supercurricular activities and contextual offers 

• Access to Unifrog (a huge database of information) 

• How to make a UCAS application 

• Personal statement guidance, with personalised feedback 

• How to apply for finance and accommodation 

• Life skills to stay safe and thrive when living independently
