Free 11 Plus Familiarisation Materials for pupil premium
We are committed to providing support to families whose children are eligible for pupil premium funding. We are keen to increase the number of children from disadvantaged backgrounds attending our grammar schools.
To encourage even greater representation of children at PHSG, we work in partnership with Atom Learning, the leading online Key Stage 2 learning and 11 Plus preparation platform, to provide students who are eligible for pupil premium with free online learning and 11 Plus exam preparation.
This programme is designed to help children familiarise themselves with the type of questions they may see on the 11 Plus and make progress with the Key Stage 2 curriculum. They'll be able to access KS2 and 11 Plus practice questions, learning resources, and practice papers through their Atom Home account.

ATOM Reading Lists - Years 3 to 6
ATOMs reading lists for Years 3 to 6 provide a carefully curated selection of high-quality texts designed to build pupils’ reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension skills. These books expose students to a wide range of language, themes and writing styles, helping to develop the deeper reading skills needed for academic success.
Engaging with these texts can be particularly beneficial in preparing for the 11 Plus, as they encourage critical thinking, inference and an understanding of more complex vocabulary and sentence structures commonly found in assessment materials. Regular reading from the ATOMS lists supports both confidence and stamina, ensuring students are well prepared for the demands of selective tests.
