Taster Day 2025 - Monday 30th June

Monday 30th June 2025 is our Sixth Form Taster Day, an opportunity for students to experience a taste of sixth form life at PHSG.

A Levels are a big step up from GCSE and the taster sessions are intended to give students a flavour of what they could be studying next year and what is expected of them in any particular subject. 

Any students hoping to join us in September 2025 are welcome to come along, including those who have not yet applied.

Please bring a pen and some paper or a notepad. 

Schedule for the day

8:40am to 9:05am

Students are welcome to arrive at school from 8:30am, then at 8:40am there will be a welcome talk with Mr Jenkins (Head of Sixth Form) with information about the day. Sixth Form Study Centre

9:05am to 10:05

Lesson 1 - Students will be guided where to go depending on which subjects they are interested in studying. Various classrooms

10:05am to 11:05am

Lesson 2 - Students will be guided from lesson 1 to lesson 2 Various classrooms

11:05am to 11:30am

Break time - light refreshments provided. Feel free to bring your own snacks too. Sixth Form Study Centre

11:30am to 12:30pm

Lesson 3 - Students will be guided from the study centre to lesson 3 Various classrooms

12:30pm to 1.30pm

Lesson 4 - Students will be guided from lesson 3 to lesson 4 Various classrooms
1:30pm to 2:30pm

Lunchtime - Please bring your own lunch - we have a kettle and microwaves available to use in the study centre. Staff and students will be in the study centre to answer any additional questions you may have.

All students are welcome to leave from 1:30pm onwards.
