This week would have seen all students take part in sports day at Brickfields. As we are unable to do this, the PE team have set up a virtual online sports day which all students (and staff) can take part in. House points and prizes are up for grabs. Students are welcome to get family and friends involved too!
We are delighted to received a certificate of social value which details the total hours DofE participants at PHSG have donated to the local community in the last financial year 2019/20.
Across the South West, DofE participants contributed an incredible 331,994 volunteering hours to help others, which equates to a social value of over £1,440,000.
At a time when volunteering and supporting the local community could not be more important, Heather Thompson, DofE South West Director, has passed on her thanks to the DofE Manager, staff volunteers, and finally all the incredible participants who have made, and continue to make, such a positive impact on their local community.

Year 8 have been studying how soils are formed from rock in their geography lessons. The past week they have been making their own soil profiles and here are some excellent examples from Miss Boyle's 8L class.
Well done to the Year 8s who have been completing the #DevonVirtualGames challenges at home. There were some good scores submitted for the Andy Murray volley challenge and a special mention must go to Evie F and Verity T who have now completed over 80 miles for the walk, jog, run challenge.
Robyn, 7T has recently entered the Devon Virtual Games Dance Competition and came first in her entry group, performing a contemporary dance. Well done Robyn!
