The start of a journalistic journey for Rocio

Rocio, 7L, has been published in the popular 'The Week Junior' magazine in the 'over to you' section of the magazine which is distributed nationwide.

Rocio has been reading the The Week Junior for about 1 year and enjoys the articles and features within the teen magazine. A regular highlight of the magazine is the 'over to you' page, where readers are encouraged to write into the magazine about topics that are important to them.

Following the controversial Council plans to remove the trees from the City Centre of Plymouth, Rocio put pen to paper (or rather fingers to the keyboard) and felt it was important to let the nation know what had happened to our scenic city. Rocio felt very passionate about the misjustice undertaken and went to the city to tie a ribbon around one of the trees in support of those in protest about the council led decision.

She was delighted to have her piece published in the magazine and received a Roving Reporter badge.

We are delighted to celebrate this success with Rocio and are hopeful to see some more reporting about important issues from Rocio in our own student magazine in the future.
