On Wednesday 21^st June,  Team Hummingbird competed in the Geenpower Formula 24 South West Heats at Predannack airfield, with the aim of achieving qualification to the Goodwood finals later this year. After a nerve-wracking practice (when the car stopped working due to the batteries not being plugged in properly!), the team had two intense but exhilarating races. There was some stressed macarena moves from Performance and Comms teams at times, however, we are proud to say that we came first in both races, without ever dropping below first position at any point in the race! 

All team members did a fabulous job and it was lovely to have representatives from our sponsor Becton Dickinson there too along with some parents who were happily supporting and cheering us on. We also need to credit our daring drivers who, quote; "drove the car like they stole it" and our pit team who delivered some lightning speed change overs.  All in all, a fab effort from everyone, including those who could not be present at the race, but have put time and effort in perfecting the car at school. This team spirit was perfectly reflected when we were also awarded the trophy for best presented team.
