DofE Awards

On Wednesday 9th November, Mr Payne, the DofE Manager, had the pleasure of presenting over 90 Bronze and Silver DofE Award Certificates and Badges to students who have successfully completed their awards over the past year.

As a result of our students' enthusiasm, determination and resilience, DofE at Plymouth High has become the number one DofE centre in terms of ‘awards completed’ in Plymouth, Cornwall, Devon, Torbay, Somerset, Avon, Bristol, Wiltshire and Southampton out of a total of 454 centres.

Mr Payne says:

These students have been absolutely incredible as they went about completing their Volunteering, Physical, Skills and of course their Expedition sections. One example from this was their Volunteering where as a cohort they completed over 2500 hours of voluntary work – from helping the environment by litter picking, working in charity shops and food banks to helping vulnerable people with their household chores. Selfless, committed and kind are all words that come to mind when describing their efforts – amazing!
