Megan and Reema's poster is a winner at Plymouth's newest innovative art exhibition.

Megan and Reema in 9K have won a poster competition for 'Waste…Of Our Time' art exhibition in Plymouth.

Waste... of our time - Made in Plymouth is an innovative new art exhibition, highlighting the effects of plastic pollution.

They were the overall winners, winning £100 and the offer to have the posters displayed around Plymouth. We are so proud of Megan and Reema and we will also be displaying their amazing creation on the school site.

Megan:

After posters of 'the waste of our time' competition were promoted around school, we immediately wanted to participate and share our passion to prevent plastic pollution and make the world a better place for the future.

We were delighted to be informed that we had won the 11-16 joint entry category of the poster competition. As well as being invited to the award ceremony and exhibition of ours and other category winners designs.

We are so grateful to be the winners of such an amazing competition to promote a cause that we are really passionate about.

Reema:

I had great fun at the award ceremony at Leadworks gallery with a Plastic Waste Band drumming and chanting, and processing along the road with the ‘rope’ of plastic milk bottles that was subsequently re-formed into the ‘Fossil’ on the floor of the gallery. I found the whole experience creative and a fun opportunity. It was then announced that we were the overall winners of the competition and £100 prize money and the offer for the poster to be plastered all around Plymouth!
