Ms Claire Eales-White retires

This term we say goodbye to our much loved Head of Sixth Form, Ms Eales-White, as she embarks on her well-deserved retirement.

Ms Eales-White joined Plymouth High as Head of History in 2005 from Coombe Dean school and has served as a teacher since 1987. Students, staff and parents will miss Ms Eales-White; the care and passion that she put into everything she did has been inspirational.  We wish her a long and happy retirement with her family.

From the moment I walked into Plymouth High I have felt the warmth of the welcome, the enthusiasm of the students, the kindness of my colleagues. From trips to Tuscany, Berlin, or the Model United Nations in Bath, to memorable House Festivals conjured up like magic by enterprising House Captains, I have seen the value of our wonderful motto, For Life not school we learn. I have thoroughly enjoyed challenging the students to aim high, beyond what they expect of themselves, and been thrilled to see them go out into the world confident, ambitious and ready to contribute to the world around them. That is the greatest reward a teacher can have, and even better when they return to tell you all about it, and to feel you had one small part of their happiness and success.

I wish every student the very best for their future; and every member of staff a huge thank you for their support in helping my time at Plymouth High be so happy and rewarding.
