Klara takes to the sky for St Lukes

Klara, 11CAR, is taking part in a tandem skydive on 19th June in order to raise money for St Luke’s hospice.

During the pandemic charities across the country have seen a downturn in donations and monies raised.  Klara has chosen St Luke’s as her charity because she wanted to help a more local, smaller charity and St Luke’s is one that is so important for so many people, their work focuses on end of life care for people with very serious illnesses.

For more than 35 years St Lukes has been providing specialist end of life care and support to people from across Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall, whether in the home, hospital or at our specialist unit at Turnchapel. They care for people with serious illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure, multiple sclerosis and chronic lung disease, treating any adult over the age of 18.

The skydive will be taking place at the Dunkeswell airfield, Honiton where I will be jumping out of a plane from 15,000 feet...

I’m really excited for this as it is a personal challenge especially as I will have just turned 16 but something I know will feel amazing afterwards and it will be a memory that will stay with me forever.

Klara is wanting to raise as much money as possible and has set a goal of £500.

I think it would be incredible if I could raise this much money for such a great cause so I would really appreciate all donations, big or small.
