The final chapter begins for Year 11
A joyful and emotional celebration for our students
Today, we marked the 'beginning of the end' of an important chapter with our annual Year 11 leavers’ event. Following a heartfelt speech from Mr Law, the atmosphere was relaxed as students enjoyed music and food in the gym, taking time to sign each other's shirts and yearbooks, capturing messages and memories that will last long after they leave us.
A highlight of the event was the much-anticipated leavers’ video. As always, PHSG staff did not disappoint – showcasing their enthusiasm for fancy dress and a surprising flair for lip-syncing. When Mr Underdown made his appearance on screen, the reaction from students was almost enough to lift the roof!
Outside on the courts, students made the most of the inflatable, adding an extra element of fun and energy to the day. Thankfully, the dry weather held, allowing everyone to move freely between activities.
There was a real sense of togetherness throughout the morning between both students and staff, with laughter and hugs – and, of course, a few tears – as everyone reflected on their time at Plymouth High and the meaningful, supportive friendships that have been built over the years.
This is, of course, a significant and emotional term for our Year 11 students, and we could not be more proud of everything they have achieved so far. We wish them the very best of luck as they head into exam season, before embarking upon the next exciting phase of their lives.
