Gold-level giving: 100 hours of service

Year 7 student, Sophie, goes above and beyond for her local community
Over the past 12 months, Sophie D, 7L has demonstrated exceptional dedication, compassion, and community spirit through her involvement in the Lions Club International Young Leaders in Service scheme. Her hard work has culminated in achieving the programme’s highest honour - the Gold Award, presented to young people who complete 100 hours of community service within a year.
To reach this impressive milestone, Sophie contributed her time and energy to distributing leaflets promoting Lions Club events, baking cakes, and supporting elderly residents by assisting them with their shopping – small acts of kindness that have made a big difference to those around her.
And Sophie’s commitment to helping others extends even beyond this award. She is an enthusiastic and active member of Girlguiding and also regularly volunteers at her local Park Run events on weekends!
Balancing schoolwork with volunteer commitments and extracurricular activities is no small task, yet Sophie approaches it all with positivity. Her dedication to contributing to her community is truly inspiring.
Well done, Sophie – your dedication to contributing to your community shows maturity, kindness, and leadership. What an outstanding role model you are. We are so proud of what you have accomplished – Mr Underdown
