Empowered students, empowered women

The leaders of tomorrow

To mark International Women's Day, celebrated around the world on 8th March, our 2026 Head Student team are leading important conversations at our assemblies this week - what this day means, why it matters, and how it connects to our lives here in school, encouraging reflection on the millions of girls around the world who still face barriers to education.

HST members, Ellen and Zara, had this to say at this morning's assembly:

International Women's Day is important because it celebrates the achievements of women and recognises the progress women have made in various fields, but also to raise awareness about gender equality and the challenges women still face.

More women than ever are leading countries, companies, science and social movements - and young people are the reason for this change.

Their presentation highlighting influential women who have changed the world can be found below.

As a school, PHSG are proud to support these conversations and the thoughtful leadership shown by our Head Students.  Together, we continue to strive for a future where every girl has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and lead.
