    Student of the week: Phoebe, 7A. ''Phoebe's poem for the 'Wonderful Water' Rotary Young Writer competition has been selected to be published in the final anthology, which is a tremendous achievement. Students worked on their pieces in the autumn term in English lessons before submitting to the competition.'' Nominated by Miss Grant. Awarded 10 House Points. 
    Class of the week: F24 Racing Drivers. ''Getting in a F24 car for the first time and going at 35mph around a racetrack is incredibly scary! The Hummingbird drivers won the race and the Xantus drivers got the highest distance recorded for Xantus this year and beat all the other Plymouth based schools.'' Nominated by Miss Cook. 
    Year 10 & Year 12, Silver and Gold, DofE Groups. ''They completed their expedition with amazing feedback from the Dynamic Adventures instructors. We even got a phone call from a member of the public praising our students for their impeccable behaviour and friendliness on the campsite.'' Nominated by Miss Barnett

  • Mrs. Clews Races for Mental Health Charity, Raising £1700!

    Over the bank holiday weekend, Mrs Clews took on the Saltash half-marathon in memory of Miss Luscombe, raising money for a charity close to her heart called Open Up which is an NHS charity that helps those suffering with a variety of mental health issues in Devon.

  • PHSG Formula 24 Teams Race to Victory at season Opener!

    Our Formula 24 racing team had a strong start to the 2025 season at RMB Chivenor this past Sunday, entering two cars – Hummingbird and Xantus – into their first competitive event of the year.

    We are delighted to report that Hummingbird finished first in the race, securing a commanding lead and winning by a considerable margin. Xantus, competing in its very first race, achieved an impressive distance of nearly 32 miles, outperforming all the other Plymouth-based schools, many of whom have been racing for several years. This exceeded our original target of 28 miles and represents a significant achievement for a new team and vehicle.

    Just a quick reminder that train timetables will be changing this Sunday, 18 May as part of the twice-yearly changes to timetables nationwide. All amendments are now in journey planners and online systems, including www.gwr.com and National Rail Enquiries. We’re asking customers to double-check their journey before travelling as there may be some minor changes in timings affecting their travel plans.
