    Student of the week: Poppy, Year 12. ''For representing PHSG in the first ever Trust wide student council meeting.  Poppy shared ideas with students from all 21 schools in the Trust and hosted the student leader from Plympton Academy.'' Nominated by Mr Underdown. Awarded 10 House points.
    Class of the week: Active in Mind Group. ''For fully engaging with the Active in Mind project over the last six weeks and working so well with Annie Vernon our Olympic Athlete Mentor who has been in to school this week to celebrate their involvement. They have been enthusiastic and engaged and have all hopefully been learning some good habits of mind to help them in the future.'' Nominated by Mrs Goolden

    On Friday 24th February, Year 10 Textiles students were given a pattern cutting workshop at Makers HQ. Students were informed about the industry from a leading expert and  learnt how to manipulate darts within a bodice block. This work will support them with their construction of a skirt this term.

    Student of the week: Molly, 10T. ''For her improved contribution in English. Molly has been a quiet and reserved student in the past. However, recently, she has grown in confidence and impressed me with continued positive contributions to class discussions and excellent, engaged ideas. It is wonderful to see her develop her analytical thought processes, which will stand her in good stead for the world beyond school life. Well done, Molly!'' Nominated by Miss Readey. Awarded 10 House points!
    Class of the week: 10P PE2 class, ''For their continued enthusiasm during PE. Despite it being a cold day and their first mountain biking session they were enthusiastic and motivated to learn the techniques needed in order to progress onto the off road trails. Those who were less confident showed great perseverance and the more able were really supportive of the rest of the group.'' Nominated by Mrs Luscombe.

    On Wednesday 22nd February, Year 12 visited Arts University Plymouth to screen print their final print designs for an interior project set last term. They learnt how to expose their own designs onto the silk screen and how to complete a successful repeated print design. Many hope to use this as a wallpaper design, lampshade or as part of the soft furnishings in their newly designed room.
