    Student of the week: Ella F. 8K. With two nominations! ''Ella has worked consistently hard throughout this term, grappling with the complexities of the short story collection we are studying. She has consistently pushed herself to answer challenging questions in Retrieval and has significantly contributed to our class discussions with high-quality answers, enriching the quality of the talk for the whole class. Additionally, she regularly volunteers to read aloud and has been diligent in completing extension work. I could not have asked for more. Nominated by Miss Grant. ''Ella was really kind, compassionate and a very calming presence for others when dealing with an incident trampolining. She supported other students who found the situation upsetting and was a lovely friend to her peers.'' Nominated by Mrs Goolden. Awarded 10 House Points.

    Student of the week: Daisy B, 10K. ''For her brave contributions during the Y10 PSHE Day'' Nominated by Miss Cook. Awarded 10 House Points. 
    Class of the week: 8B English. ''Superb engagement with 'The Yellow Wallpaper', with deep connections being made between the novel's context and content. Great engagement with reading aloud and behaved brilliantly all week. Several students within the class have markedly improved their behaviour since last week and there have been several contributions to class discussions from previously quiet students.''   • Scaling up Climate Education in Schools: Engaging Students in Local Action for a Global Challenge

    On January 20th, a group of Key Stage 4 students participated in the workshop, marking an exciting step forward in scaling up climate education in schools. The workshop was not only educational but also interactive, allowing students to connect the theory of climate change with real-world action. They were able to learn about climate change’s effects locally, particularly its impact on the marine environment, and directly contribute to solutions that could help address these issues.

    Holocaust remembrance is important to us at PHSG, therefore we are supporting the Holocaust Memorial Day today, to remember the six million Jewish men, women and children who were murdered during the Holocaust. Our Library Team have created a reading list for students who are interested in recommendations on the theme of the holocaust.

  • From Student to Entrepreneur: Katie's Smart Tech Start-Up Wins Investment at University of Bath’s Dragons’ Den 2

    The University of Bath Entrepreneurship Programme, led by Enterprise Bath, gives students the opportunity to pitch to ‘Dragons’ for the chance to win direct investment into their start-ups. Dragons’ Den 2 took place last year and ex pupil Katie, won an investment for her business!

    A huge congratulations to all the talented students who entered the Frozen Art competition! We were thrilled by the outstanding level of creativity and skill demonstrated by each submission. Mrs. Marcer Griffiths and Miss Roughton were incredibly impressed by the quality of the work, making it a very challenging task to select just one winner. After much deliberation, we decided to feature three fantastic designs to be showcased in the official school programme!
