Plymouth High School for Girls has held the prestigious Investor in Careers award since 2002. Following our reassessment, in October 2023, we are delighted to announce that Plymouth High School for Girls has successfully completed and achieved the Quality in Careers Standard, through Investor in Careers and are now full holders of the award for the next three years!
Each year PHSG holds a Christmas card competition, with the winner having their design representing the school as the official school Christmas Card, which is sent to affiliated schools and PHSG friends across the country.

The Library hosted our ever popular annual Harry Potter themed book quiz on 12th October.
We are seeking to appoint an Office and Cover Manager to provide excellent leadership of the front office, cover team and meal time assistants and to ensure the smooth day to day running of the school.
Our Sixth Form open evening 2023 will be held on Thursday 9th November, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Booking is not required.
Our newly formed PHSG PTFA are kicking off their tenure with a PHSG exclusive cinema screening of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour! We hope this is an exciting opportunity for pupils to spend time with their friends; dancing and singing away to a bit of Taylor! As the screening will be exclusively ours, we expect lots of singing and fun.
The MFL department are running a trip to Strasbourg and Freiburg during CEW in July 2024! This trip is open to Y8 and Y9, and we will be visiting Strasbourg and Freiburg. The trip will include visiting a German school, exploring the local areas, visiting Europapark theme park, visiting the European Parliament and, of course, trying lots of new food along with practising our language skills! If your child is interested, then please send them to Mrs Gilchrist in the MFL office to collect a letter which has all the finer details.
As part of the TSAT #WeAreOne event, Chartwells will be providing a themed menu to celebrate BHM on Tuesday 17th October.
