As a Naval city, many of our students and staff members have connections to our British Military. PHSG marked Armistice Day today with the national two-minute silence held at 11am. Students throughout the week have been contributing to the #weareone event in the Library and our student cadets attended school today in their uniform.
33 PHSG students represented the school today in the Plymouth Schools Cross Country Championships at the Staddiscombe playing fields.
During Anti-Bullying Week, next week, Plymouth High School will be working with Plymouth Artists Together to promote their 'Show Grace' campaign.
8 PHSG students took part in the UKMT senior Maths challenge in October and every single student who volunteered to take part achieved a certificate!
We will be holding a PTFA meeting at the Hyde Park Pub on Tuesday 7th November at 7pm. If the pub downstairs is busy and loud, they have given us permission to use upstairs for the meeting. All are invited.

An update from GWR regarding disruptions of torm Ciaran which is due to hit the UK today.
In anticipation of strong gusts, the high tide and the heavy rain, there will therefore be no GWR services, and no replacement road service from 2000 on Wednesday 1 Nov until midday Thursday 2 Nov between Penzance and St Austell (including the St Ives and Falmouth branch lines). This includes buses planned for the closure of the line for re-signalling work between St Austell and Penzance.
Throughout October, schools across the Thinking Schools Academy Trust have come together to mark Black History Month (BHM) for our first #WeAreOne event of the year. It's an opportunity to inspire and empower future generations, while reflecting on the national theme. PHSG students have reflected on the past month and why BHM is important to them.
