Willow-Rose of 7A is on a roll! After being re-selected for Plymouth Argyle’s Emerging Talent Centre for the second year and successfully making the Devon County team, Willow had a packed half-term with achievements to match. Here’s a rundown of her football-filled week!
This weekend, Lucy 9A, tumbled her way to victory at the South West Tumbling Championships, bringing home a Gold Medal! 🏅 Her dedication, hard work, and countless hours of practice paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of her fantastic achievement.

We are thrilled to announce the winner of this year's Christmas Card Competition, a beloved school tradition that has run for over 25 years! Students were tasked with designing the official school Christmas card, sent out to the school community. This competition not only showcases the incredible artistic talents of our students but also serves as an important House competition, with each entry earning vital points for their House. The House with the most points will be awarded the House Shield at the end of this term.
We are excited to announce that PHSG students are playing an important role in the Children’s World Book Awards, the UK’s only national book prize that is entirely reader-driven – from start to finish, the children themselves decide the winner! Each year, the award is presented to the most popular work of children’s fiction, with almost 700 books read and voted on by young adults across the country.
The Geography Department has been blown away by the creativity and effort put into this term’s ‘Biome in the Box’ project by our talented Year 8 students. Tasked with creating a biome of their choice, students showcased their understanding of the flora, fauna, food webs, and current environmental threats affecting their chosen biomes.

PHSG publishes their autumn half term of term newsletter.
The MFL team is offering a residential trip to Lille and Cologne during Curriculum Enrichment Week 2025. We will be exploring both towns and practising our French and German skills, as well as enjoying a day at a theme park in Germany. Letters have gone out to students in their MFL lessons. However, if your student hasn’t received one, and they are interested, please direct them to their French or German teacher as soon as possible to get the reply slips before Nov 5th!
