Class of the week: 10h English 1, Year 10  "They produced and performed outstanding speeches to the class. The best set of speeches yet."  Nominated by Miss Taylor. 

Class of the week:  10H/EN2 English - "We launched our Spoken Language Endorsement with Year 10 this week with a research lesson and students impressed us coming up with creative topics.  We have had a range of academic and sophisticated subjects - ranging from sensitive areas such as dementia and period education for boys, all the way to Mary I, religion, and how to escape the manosphere.  All students have been engaged and buzzing with their ideas and gaining wider knowledge.  I can't wait to hear their finished speeches!".  Nominated by Miss Readey.

Class of the Week: 9D Biology for their fantastic effort and continued test improvement.  Nominated by Dr Doddrell.  

And once again, we had such strong nominations this week that we have multiple winning Groups: 

• Group of the week: Erin W, Lily B, Rosie L, Year 11, and Maggie D, Year 13 This wonderful group of students welcomed ACC Leaper into school on Monday.  They asked her questions about Policing, her experience as the most senior Police officer in Devon and Cornwall and about the challenges and rewards of her role.  The students were engaging, thoughtful and fabulous ambassadors for our school.  True PHSG spirit, well done.  Nominated by Mr Underdown. 

• Clara M, Harriet P, Jess W and Olivia W, Year11 for outstanding work around Hummingbird and Xanthus, giving up their Saturday's and lunchtimes to help the team improve and prepare for Chivenor, and sharing their wisdom with younger students.  Nominated by Mr Goodchild.

• Annelise D, Tabitha R, Eva T, EmilyRose T, Eva P, Edlyn H-T, Erin S, Laila W and Isla D, Year 8B/Mu for choreographing, rehearsing and performing the most exceptional quality piece of musical theatre.  The piece was so good I have asked them to perform it in a concert at the end of term.  This was no better example of a group of students working together to produce work of exceptional quality.  Nominated by Miss MarcerGriffiths.

Class of the week: 10H2 Biology, Year 10 "I cannot remember a time when I had such a uniformly positive parents evening. This class has worked hard for the whole academic year and has made good improvement from test to test". Nominated by Mrs Lewin. 

Group of the week: Lily-Mae H and Livia B, Year 11 for acting as school photographers during the Gym and Dance Festival. "This last-minute - and no doubt daunting - request saw them rise to the challenge with enthusiasm and maturity, and they did an outstanding job! I'm looking forward to sharing the results of their hard work shortly." Group of the week: Neive A, Martha C, Lamara H, Elizabeth J, Annabelle L, Orlaith M, Megan O, Amelia J, and Annabelle R, Year 9 for representing the school in their end of season netball tournament, coming 2nd overall, showing great resilience, determination and teamwork.  Nominated by Miss Jones.
