Guides and Scouts Day

Today, students and staff who are members of the Guides and Scouts wore their uniforms in celebration of the founders and to honour the promises that they made.

The 22nd of February is a special day for Guides and Scouts worldwide as we remember our founders, Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, who shared this birthday.  Traditionally, members of both organisations celebrate this day by wearing their uniform and thinking about all of our Scout and Guide brothers and sisters around the world in over 150 countries.

This year we are particularly lucky at Plymouth High to be supporting three of our students to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, and one of our students to take part in a Guiding international visit to Switzerland.  To attend these events is a huge honour and requires being selected to represent the UK, so we are incredibly proud of Jess, Rose, Clara and Frankie for their hard work and achievement.

To help them with their fundraising, we will be selling ‘Camp Doughnuts’ on Friday 3rd March at lunchtime.  Come along to the Food Tech room to try one of our camp delicacies and help support our young people!
