National Rail update

Strikes will take place on Saturday 5th, Monday 7th, and Wednesday 9th November.

You may have seen the news that the RMT, Unite and TSSA unions have postponed the strike action scheduled for Thursday 3rd November as it clashes with the day that the Royal British Legion’s traditional Poppy Day collection at rail stations.

Strike action instead has been called for Wednesday 9th November.

This means that strikes will now take place on Saturday 5th, Monday 7th, and Wednesday 9th November, and services will operate normally on Thursday 3 November.

On the three strike days, there will be no services operating at all in Devon & Cornwall. The Night Riviera sleeper service will not run from Friday 4th to Wednesday 9th November.

Our advice to customers remains not to travel unless absolutely necessary, and to make alternative arrangements. Where services can run they will start much later and finish much earlier than usual.

Services will also be impacted on the days in between and after strike days, with some cancellations, a later service start up than usual and some routes running at a reduced frequency.

If you can share this with your networks that would be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes

Jane
