Starpack Awards

Year 10 students, Amy and Helen have picked up their Starpack Awards for their entries into the sustainable shampoo competition, sponsored by Logoplaste. Amy achieved a gold award and Helen achieved a silver award.

A virtual ceremony was held online, please click here if you would like to view the awards in full.

Our Design & Technology Yr10 Resistant Materials and Graphics students entered a sustainable design and make shampoo bottle design competition recently. The standard of work produced from all girls was amazing and there has been lots of positive praise from the organising judges.

The competition involved our girls researching a suitable plastic alternative to current product containers used in this industry. Students' next step was to design their portfolio by developing ideas through various drawings and CAD designs techniques. The final developed design was taken to the manufacturing stage using our CNC routeing equipment. Finally CAD designed and CAM manufactured graphics were applied to enhance the overall presentation of the product.

Two students in particular deserve recognition for their efforts, firstly Amy (work featured in images attached) for her Gold award. The judges said her design was "Eye-catching yet simple design that would be easy to manufacture."

Helen was singled out for a Silver award for her stylish but simplistic design. Her portfolio of work was also commended for presentation and good use of materials.

Both Amy and Helen will be taking part in a virtual award ceremony being held late June this year, due to Covid 19.

I would just like to thank all of the girls for their hard work and effort for this competition.
