An incredible one hundred and fifty-one students took on the challenge of these 2 day/1 night (Bronze) or 3 day/2 night (Silver) Expeditions experiencing the full range of weather conditions including some Atlantic storms on the Bronze Qualifier, typical ‘four seasons in one day’ Dartmoor weather including ‘summer’ rain, mist and wind on the Silver Training and Practice to the extreme temperatures experienced on both the Year 10 and 11 Silver Qualifying Expeditions in July. From the beautiful South Hams countryside, the South West Coast Path to the ‘remote and wild’ Dartmoor National Park, students have certainly experienced the amazing scenery that we have on our doorstep. It has been great to see students socialise, get away from their mobile phones and work together so effectively as teams. Finally, none of this would have been possible without the help and support of an incredible nineteen different members of staff or volunteers who have given up their time to enable students to experience the wonders of the DofE Expedition.

Students now have until 31^st August to complete their Bronze and Silver Awards – adding evidence to their Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections and getting Assessor’s to write their Assessor’s Reports. They can then go onto start their Silver and their Gold Awards as we also welcome a new cohort of DofE participants from the present Year 8 who can start their DofE Bronze Award in September.
