Celebrating A level success and exciting next steps
Lots of smiles and reasons to celebrate this morning!
At Plymouth High School for Girls, part of Thinking Schools Academy Trust, we are celebrating the achievements of Year 13 students as A level results are announced.
These results reflect the hard work, resilience and aspiration students have demonstrated throughout their time in the Sixth Form, while opening the door to an exciting range of next steps, including places at top universities, apprenticeships, employment and other fantastic opportunities.
As our school motto reminds us: For life, not school, we learn. Today’s results are not simply the culmination of students’ time at Plymouth High, but the beginning of the next chapter and an opportunity to take everything they have learned into the wider world.
Particular congratulations go to Nour A, Angela B, Philip C, Alice D, Matilda G, Rosa W, Rafaela C R, Mani K-N, and Sanskruti K who achieved at least 3 A* or A grades in their A levels.
At least a third of all grades in Art and Design, History, Media, Further Mathematics and Extended Project were at A* or A grade, whilst all grades in Art and Design, English Literature, Media, Religious Education, Physics and Sports Studies were A*-C.
A fifth of all grades were at A* or A whilst 45% of all grades were at A* to B and and the overall pass rate was 99%. All students who wanted a university or apprenticeship place have been able to secure their courses today.
Collecting her A-Level results today, Alice D, said:
I am incredibly proud of myself and the effort I put into my A level studies. I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of the staff here at Plymouth High over the last 7 years. I am really looking forward to my next steps at university.”
Alice D will now be studying History and Politics at Exeter University

I am very grateful for all the support the Sixth Form team has given me. I have really enjoyed Sixth Form and will always look back on these days as amongst the best of my life.”

I joined Plymouth High from another local school and am so glad that I did. The support you get from the staff is so good – and the teaching is just great!”
