Celebrating double excellence in ballet

Two students, one shared passion - en pointe for success!
Katie P, 8K has trained with The Royal Ballet School as both a Junior and Mid Associate over the past five years – a remarkable achievement in itself. During this time, Katie has been invited to attend prestigious Spring and Summer Intensives at White Lodge and Elmhurst Ballet School on numerous occasions.
Katie is part of the Emerging Talent Programme with Italia Conti’s main school in Woking and continues to train locally, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to developing vocationally as a ballerina. Looking forward, Katie is looking forward to performing with the National Youth Ballet for the second consecutive year – a wonderful honour!

And Melanie E in 7T has been awarded a Distinction in her Grade 3 ballet exam for the Royal Academy of Dance – an absolutely fantastic accomplishment! This milestone reflects Melanie’s commitment, focus, and passion for dance which she tells us started as soon as she could walk!
During her exam, Melanie demonstrated impressive consistency across all areas, including technique, performance, and character work – and particularly of note was her perfect 10/10 in recall! Melanie enjoyed playing the lead role of Dorothy in the 2025 Christmas show for her ballet school, and she is very excited to take part in next year's Gym & Dance festival here at PHSG!

Both Melanie and Katie exemplify the dedication, resilience, and passion required to succeed, and their achievements are truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud of them both and excited to see what the future holds!
It is always a joy to celebrate the passions and accomplishments of our students beyond the classroom: ‘For life, not school, we learn’. Katie and Melanie have shown exceptional commitment and dedication in their individual ballet journeys, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow and flourish in this discipline.” – Mr Underdown
