Spreading kindness for Mental Health Awareness week

A ‘string of support’ has been created by our wonderful students
This week, our Head Student Team - Ellen S (12K), Zara U (12L), Catarina L (12K), and Beatrice W (12A) led a thoughtful initiative in the library to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, encouraging students to come together and share messages of kindness, encouragement, and positivity.
Students were invited to write uplifting words and supportive messages on colourful pieces of paper, which have now been transformed into a vibrant display of bunting.
The activity has proved very popular, and it has been heartening to see the many thoughtful messages and drawings.

When asked about the bunting project, our Head Student, Ellen, explained their motivation:
We chose this way to raise awareness as we really wanted to give students the opportunity to share their thoughts and positive messages with one another in a creative and collaborative way. It was lovely to see people sitting around the table, talking to each other whilst making something meaningful to put a smile on someone else’s face.
It is very easy to feel alone. We would encourage students to talk to a teacher, friends, or family about their feelings. Raising awareness is not only important this week, but always!"
The team also wish to take this opportunity to remind students of local and national support organisations available:
While a permanent home for the bunting is still to be decided, it is hoped that it will become a lasting feature within the school – something students can look to for a moment of encouragement and positivity whenever they need it.
This project is a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness and connection can have a big impact. Well done to our Head Student Team for leading such a meaningful and creative project. Their work highlights and strengthens our commitment to PHSG being a supportive and encouraging place for everyone" – Mr Underdown
