Rising star reaches West End Finals!

Harriet’s talent and dedication to performing arts has opened doors to an unforgettable experience later this month!

I am so nervous, but beyond excited to have been selected! I am incredibly grateful for the unbelievable support from my friends and family."

Please join us in congratulating Plymouth High Year 10 student, Harriet H, who has sailed through the recent semi-finals of West End Calling in London, securing a solo audition at the Finals – also taking place in London – later this month. Impressively, Harriet is the only performer from the South West region to reach this stage of the competition.

Since February, Harriet has consistently impressed the judging panel with powerful performances, including Dying Ain’t So Bad ('Bonnie & Clyde: The Musical') and I’m Not That Girl ('Wicked'). While her final performance piece remains under wraps for now, we have no doubt she will deliver another outstanding and emotive performance on the day!

Harriet has been passionate about singing since the age of 8 and joined a local musical theatre group when she started Year 7. Alongside her studies, she dedicates her time to three local drama groups and is involved with productions throughout the year. Harriet hopes to pursue a career in musical theatre and performance in the future.

The London Final is being held in front of a new panel of judges, as well as an audience of agents and casting directors – a fantastic opportunity to be seen!

Break a leg, Harriet, we are all behind you!

Harriet’s success reflects skills she has developed through her experiences beyond the classroom, and we are proud to see her embody our motto, ‘For Life, Not School, We Learn’. Harriet is a wonderful example of what it takes to pursue your ambitions – confidence, resilience, and determination.  We wish Harriet every success in the Finals! – Mr Underdown
