From Pony Club to Team GB!

Year 11 student, Harriet, has been selected to travel to America and represent Team GB

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate Harriet, 11K whose dedication and determination have earned her an incredible opportunity: she has been selected to represent Team GB in the Pony Club Mounted Games Exchange taking place in Kentucky!

Harriet has been a proud member of her Pony Club since the age of 9 and over the past year, mounted games has become her sole focus.  Known for being fast-paced, it involves completing a series of obstacle-style races that test athleticism, coordination, balance, and – most importantly – the close partnership between rider and pony.  Harriet’s skill in this discipline is the result of countless hours of practice and a deep bond with her pony, Teddy.

Harriet trains several times each week and competes regularly across the country, riding not only for her own Pony Club, but also proudly representing Lancashire in Mounted Games Association competitions and taking part in Equestrian Games UK events.

This opportunity to travel to America for 10 days and compete for Team GB is an extraordinary achievement and a moment that recognises everything Harriet has been working for.  Her family are immensely proud of her - as are we!

Harriet’s selection for Team GB is a reminder of how far determination and passion can take our students before they leave school, exemplifying our school motto: “For life, not school, we learn”.  Congratulations Harriet, a truly impressive sporting achievement – Mr Underdown
