Students are a sell-out success!

Months of hard work paid off as PHSG students deliver a triumphant run at the Barbican Theatre

More than 70 talented students - from principals to backstage crew - took to the stage last week for our much anticipated school production of Legally Blonde Jnr., performed at the Barbican Theatre.  Spread across four consecutive nights, the show was a sell‑out, a real testament to the enthusiasm and invaluable support from our school community.

From rehearsals to the final curtain call, everyone involved demonstrated remarkable commitment.  Students balanced rehearsal schedules alongside their schoolwork, showing determination and teamwork.  Their dedication truly paid off: each performance was full of energy, humour, and vibrant characters, capturing the spirit of the original musical and leaving families thoroughly entertained.

Backstage, our student technical crew worked seamlessly to support the cast - managing lighting, sound, props, set changes, and everything in between.  Their professionalism contributed significantly to the smooth running of each show.

A representative for the the venue said this about our students:

From powerhouse vocals to brilliant comic timing (and plenty of pink, of course!), the cast and crew have delivered a show full of heart, humour and confidence.  Huge congratulations to everyone involved, you’ve absolutely smashed it! - The Barbican Theatre

PHSG Headteacher, Mr Underdown had the pleasure of seeing the cast and crew in action when he attended Thursday night’s performance:

The students have been tremendous, performing magnificently to a sellout audience each night. Expertly led by Mrs Marcer‑Griffiths, with outstanding support from Miss Joynes, Miss Jagger‑Rowden, and Miss Tills.  Their dedication has enabled students to shine in every aspect of the performance.  I thoroughly enjoyed the show! - Mr Underdown

A huge well done and thank you to every student, staff member, and family who supported the show.  We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and look forward to seeing what’s next!
