PHSG Sports Awards Evening 2025
Plymouth High School for Girls hosted their sports awards evening this week, celebrating the students' sporting success over the past year.
This year we were delighted to welcome two additional awards, The Miss Luscombe Award and the Parent Award.
The Miss Luscombe award has been introduced and donated by a student at Plymouth High who wanted the award to go to someone who has good sportsmanship, helps and encourages others and show dedication and commitment, in honour of our truly cherished PE teacher, Kelly Luscombe, whom we sadly lost earlier this year.
We feel this describes many of our students especially those invited to the sports awards event, however, it was a unanimous decision from the PE department based on this student's attributes in a number of Miss Luscombe’s favourite sports, particularly cricket. She shows exceptional leadership skills and kindness when boosting people's confidence, whilst motivating them to achieve their best. It is our great pleasure to award the first Kelly Luscombe cup to, Immy B.
The Parent Award has been introduced where parents can nominate their child for sporting excellence outside of school. We had 48 nominees for this award and we are delighted that Lottie E has been selected to receive this first Parent Award.
