Student Success at the Buckfast Food Festival

We are pleased to share that Plymouth High School for Girls recently took part in a regional competition organised by the Buckfast Food Festival, which invited students from local schools to design a book-themed menu.
We received a number of imaginative and high-quality entries from our students, and we are proud to announce that Erin in 7L was selected as the PHSG winner. Her menu was then chosen as the overall winner of the competition.
As part of her prize, Erin attended the festival on Saturday, where she was invited on stage alongside chef Peter Gorton to present her menu and receive her award. It was a wonderful opportunity and a well-deserved recognition of her creativity and effort.
Erin’s mum said
“We had a lovely day on Saturday at the Buckfast Food Festival. Peter Gorton and his team were so welcoming and supportive. Erin spent 40 minutes on stage in front of a crowd of festival-goers recreating her menu alongside Peter Gorton. She talked about My Neighbour Totoro and Plymouth High School. Peter has invited her to join him on stage again at any Food Festivals he is presenting at!”
