Year 11 practice their interview skills

On Tuesday 16th January 2024, our Year 11 students had the opportunity to practice their job interview skills during a mock interview.

The students were put through their paces by representatives of employers including the Army, Plymouth Marjon University, Wolferstans, Babcock, University Plymouth Hospitals, Plymouth City Council, Princess Yachts, Atkins Realis,  PKF Francis Clark & Apprenticeship, Support & Knowledge

Alan Jenkins, Head of Sixth Form said, “The year 11 mock interview day is one of my favourite of the year, it gives me a valuable opportunity to meet all of our year 11 students post interview. I was blown away with how well our students engaged with their interviews and then their ability to reflect and highlight areas for improvement for when it really counts in the future”.

Heather Longford, Careers Leader, added, “The students were given valuable tips on how to develop their CVs and enhance their employability skills. We very much appreciate the support of all the volunteers; they have enabled the students to build on their career development and plan for their future.”

Plymouth High would like to thank the local businesses that were able to volunteer their time to participate in this event. This experience is very valuable to the students and prepares them for the expectations when sitting professional interviews.
